The required experience is just given as a guide. It is based on the average progression of an average person with average skills but who regularly practices the movements learnt in the lessons outside the dance school. If you practise salsa only at the dance school and you seldom go out for dancing, probably you will have to attend a level lower than the one proposed according to your "dancing experience".
